Heaven Opened by the Practice of the Three Hail Marys

I was recently browsing through some old pamphlets that I had and I found a leaflet titled "Heaven Opened by the practice of the Three Hail Marys." It caught my attention and decided to read it immediately. I would like to type out here what the leaflet said and I invite each of you to read through.
Everything bellow in italics is quoted directly from the source:
One of the greatest means of salvation and one of the surest signs of predestination, is unquestionable, the devotion to the Most Blessed Virgin. All the holy doctors of the Church are unanimous in saying with Saint Alphonsus of Liguori: "A devout servant of Mary shall never perish." The chief thing is to preserve faithfully till death in this devotion.
Numerous examples show how agreeable the three Hail Marys devotion is to the divine mother and what special graces it draws, during life and at the hour of death, on those who never omit it for a single day.
This practice was revealed to Saint Melchtilde (13th Century) well she was beseeching Our Blessed Mother to assist her and her hour of death. Our Lady appeared to her and said: "I will certainly. But I also want you to say three special Hail Marys to me every day.
"The first will be in honor of God the Father, who's omnipotence raised my soul so high above every other creature that after God I have the greatest power in heaven and on earth. In the hour of your death I will use that power of God the Father to keep any hostile power far away from you.
"The second Hail Mary will be set in honor of the Son of God who communicated his inscrutable wisdom to me. In the hour of your death I will fill your soul with the light of that wisdom so that that all the darkness of ignorance and error will be dispelled.
"The third Hail Mary will be in honor of God the Holy Ghost who filled my soul with the sweetness of his love and tenderness and mercy. In your last hour I will then change the bitterness of death into defined sweetness and delight."
Our Blessed Mother also revealed to Saint Gertrude the Great: "To any soul who faithfully praise the three Hail Marys, I will appear at the hour of death in a splendor so extraordinary that it will fill the soul with heavenly consolation."
Saint Leonard of Port Maurice, the celebrated missionary, had the three Hail Marys recited morning and evening in honor of Mary immaculate, to obtain the grace of avoiding all mortal sins during the day or night; moreover he promised in a special manner eternal salvation to all those who proved constantly faithful to this practice. He gave this devotion of three hail Marys as a penance in the confessional, especially for those who are struggling with sins of impurity.
Practice: recite, morning and evening, three Hail Marys in honor of the three great privileges bestowed upon our Blessed mother by the most Blessed Trinity with this invocation at the end: for the morning: "Oh my mother, preserve me from mortal sin during this day." For the evening: "Oh my mother, preserve me from mortal sin during this night."
(Indulgences of 200 days granted by Leo the 13th, 300 days for the members of the Archconfraternity of the three Hail Marys by Benedict the 15th, and Apostolic Benediction by Saint Pius the 10th.)
The Hail Mary: Hail Mary, Full of grace, the Lord is with thee; Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
The copy of this leaflet was distributed by Our Lady of the Rosary Library in Prospect, KY.

Thank you all for reading. I was unaware of this indulgence and felt called to share. Please join me each day as I pray the Three Hail Marys. Peace in Christ.

Missionary Update-Returning Home

Good evening all!

First, I would like to thank everyone for your support and prayers these past three months during my missionary formation. Unfortunately, I have had to return home early due to unexpected circumstances, and I will not be sent out into the mission field. I ask that you please continue to keep me in your prayers as I begin to work through these changes. As Saint Therese of Lisieux says "“For me, prayer is a surge of the heart; it is a simple look turned toward heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.” Thank you and God bless.

Week 7 Blog Update

Good afternoon and Happy November.
We have been very busy around Big Woods these past two weeks. On October 24th and 25th I attended Family Missions Company’s Proclaim conference. It was a wonderful two-day conference on Catholic Missions. We heard several talks on our baptism into Christ’s universal mission, self-mortification, and the power of poverty and mercy.
Now that Proclaim is over and wrapped up all of us “Intakers” are getting very excited for Mexico! We are leaving THIS Thursday evening after dinner. I am eagerly looking forward to learning what our schedules will be and hopefully picking up a little bit of Spanish! Keep all of us headed down to Mexico in your prayers. We will be driving and with the amount of people we have can take anywhere from 14-24 hours. Eek! Please let me know your prayer intentions so that I can keep you and your family in my prayers for this 3-week trip. I am looking forward to this amazing opportunity to serve the poor and proclaim the gospel.
I really encourage you all to dive into scripture this week. One of the many wonderful things about God is that he is speaking to us today in his living word. As Christians we are called to read the word of God daily. I am the first to admit that prior to coming to Big Woods I was not often one open my bible each day, but I can truly say I have seen the fruits abundantly in my life since I have begun doing so. And it’s okay if you don’t know what to do. Try starting with the Gospels; open it up and try reading a chapter or less; really pay attention to what you are reading and see what jumps out to you. Then seen how you think God is trying to speak to you today.
Thank you all for taking the time to read and keep up to date with what is happening in my busy life. God bless and have a wonderful week!

Week 5 Intake

Good afternoon and Peace of Christ be with you all on this beautiful Sunday! I hope you all have had a joyful week. Mine has been busy as usual; continuing to learn more about the teachings of the church and building a deeper personal relationship with our Lord. The ups and downs are all such blessings and the fellowship that I am forming with fellow Intake members makes community living such a joy.
Now, I am not much of a writer and I feel like I’ve been having some sort of “writers block” this week on what I am going to talk about on this blog post. So, if you have any topics or ideas of what you would like to read, please comment on my blog, or Facebook, so that I can write about them for future blog posts.
Furthermore, I would like to know your prayer intentions. I pray every day for the intentions of my friends and family back home and I would love to pray for yours too. Please comment or email me so I can include you in my daily prayers. For Saint John Chrysostom says:
“Prayer is the place of refuge for every worry, a foundation for cheerfulness, a source of constant happiness, a protection against sadness.”
Ourselves alone cannot provide those things for us on this earth but with God we can be filled. In turn please keep all missionaries and me in your prayers.
Moving forward this week I will be preparing an apologetics talk on Purgatory and presenting it during my teaching workshop. I look forward to being able to share how it went with you next Sunday. Also, next Saturday and Sunday is Family Missions Company’s PROCLAIM conference in Lafayette. We will be doing lots of preparation to host our speakers and all those who are attending. If you want to still attend I believe registration is still open you can go to www.proclaim2015 to learn more and contact our Teresa in our office at 337-893-6111.
“Proclaim 2015 has something special for everyone: inspiring speakers, children’s ministry, youth track, parish-oriented formation, and even family pricing! Join speakers Peter Herbeck, Deacon Ralph Poyo, Fr. Nathan O’Halloran, and Sarah Summers Granger at Proclaim 2015, where hunger for Jesus becomes zeal for proclaiming the Gospel.”
So I think that’s all I have to talk about today. I will be posting more pictures to Facebook soon so make sure to check them out. Thank you for all your support. Love you all!

God bless-

Teaching Workshop: Kerygma Teaching Outline-God’s Love

      I.         Topic: God’s Love
    II.         Introduction
A.     Share Steubie experience
1.     Ask for everybody to participate and close there eyes
2.     “Imagine sitting on the floor of an auditorium surrounded by several hundred youth your age, 13-18y/o
3.     Jesus in the Eucharist is being processed around the hall by the priest, which is called Eucharistic Adoration.
4.     You’re looking around and people are praising God with hands raised and singing songs, all while you are sitting and crying, feeling unworthy of being there, unwanted, and most of all unloved.
5.     You feel like you need to leave the room, but you look up and see the priest walking in your direction with Jesus. He stops in front of you and you gaze up upon Jesus and begin to smile as you feel His love pour down upon you and all those around you.”
6.     Have everyone open his or her eyes now.
7.     That experience was my first encounter with God’s love and something that powerful moved me and captured my heart for the rest of my life.
B.     “Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God; for God is love.”
1.     God is Love… This quote comes from the New Testament in the Bible from 1 John 4:7-8
2.     And not only is GOD LOVE, but God’s love is PERSONAL, God’s love is SACRIFICIAL, and God’s love is UNENDING.
C.     Today if you would journey with me, I would like to share with you about those characteristics God’s Love.
  III.         Body Paragraphs
A.     So, as I stated, God’s Love is PERSONAL.
1.     Some of you might be thinking, “Well, Kate. How do you know that?” but the answer can be found in the first book of the Bible.
2.     First lets talk about God; God always has been and always will be.
a.     For an example, imagine standing on the top of a skyscraper looking down at a parade. You can see the beginning and the end. God is like that. He is above all and all powerful.
3.     But God, in his power, also has love. And out of his love decided to create a world, our world. He created the land and sea, the fish, the birds and the animals, the trees and the sky, and God saw these things and knew that they were good. But lastly he created us. He created Man and Woman.
a.     God created us different than the rest of the world though.
b.     In Genesis 1:27-31 we see “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. And God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth.” And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food. And to every beast of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so. And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was VERY GOOD.”
c.      God didn’t need these things, he didn’t need us, but out of his Love for us he created us; to be like him, a God who IS love.
B.     God’s love is SACRIFICIAL.
1.     What is something that you guys wouldn’t want to give up in this world? (Ex. Videogames, texting, nail polish)
a.     Give example of having to sacrifice for girlfriend or boyfriend.
2.     All of those things may be a big sacrifice for some of us, but God sacrificed something So. Much. More.
3.     “For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16
4.     God so loved us, his creation, that he sent his only son down to earth to walk among us.
a.     Does anybody know who God’s son is? *Jesus* Jesus, Yes that’s right!
b.     Jesus is God made flesh. He is the son of Mary and grew up like a normal kid. He would play games with his friend, help out his mom and dad, and eat meals except he would do it all while perfectly obeying the commandment’s of God; He lived a life without sin.
c.      He did this as the perfect example of God’s love and it lead to his death on the cross. He died for each of us so that we may one day be fully united with God, and his infinite love, in Heaven.
C.     God’s love is UNENDING
1.     Who has ever been a part of a team? Maybe soccer or swim?
a.     Well for me, I was a dancer.  I grew up on a competitive dance team at a dance studio and I loved dance.
b.     I loved dance so much I would dance 4 days a week minimum and thought that one day I would be a professional dancer dancing on Broadway.
c.      One day my Love of dance changed. I no longer wanted dance to be my life so I stopped taking lessons.
2.     Maybe some of you have experienced this sort of love before, but I have good news. God’s love is different. God’s love is UNENDING!
3.     “But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness to me.” John 15:26
a.     The Counselor is the Holy Spirit
b.     Therefore, after Jesus was resurrected and returned to God the father in heaven, out of the Fathers Love He sent the Holy Spirit to guide us and stay with us.
c.      The Holy Spirit is the one who came down upon the disciples at Pentecost and gave them boldness and the gift of Tongues so that all may understand their preaching and that same Holy Spirit is whom we receive at our sacraments Baptism and Confirmation.
d.     He is still with us till this day, and praise God because of that!
4.     Additionally, not only did God give us the Holy Spirit to stay with us on Earth, but also he desires us to be fully united with him in Heaven after our death so that we can experience the complete fullness of God’s love for all of eternity.
   IV.         Conclusion
A.     In conclusion, God personally and individually created us out of his love, sent his son to us in sacrifice out of love, and continues to love us through all of eternity.
1.     Out of this love that God has freely given to us we too are called to love; for the Catechism of the Catholic Church states in Article 7 #1604 “God who created man out of love also calls him to love…” and they describe love as “…the fundamental and innate vocation of every human being.”
B.     Thank you for journeying with me to learn more about God’s love. As we close, lets finish in prayer keeping the words of St. Thérèse of Lisieux in our hearts:
1.     “I wish, then, to be clothed in your own justice and to receive from your love the eternal possession of yourself.”

2.     Say prayer.

Here is my outline that I used for my talk on God’s love! If you have any questions please feel free to ask me about it in the comments, Facebook, or email! God bless and Peace.
